Ok guys I have a new idea for a move

Quick Freeze
Power:45
Special/Psychical depending on the mon
Priority +1
It’s like Quick Attack but Ice

Some of the Pokémon that would get it are
Articuno
Froslass
Mamowine
Lapras
Weavile
Arctozolt
And more

Thoughts?

Ice resists Dragon, Grass, Flying, Ground, and Bug.
Bug now resists and is super effective against Fairy, but loses its edge on dark.
Ground is immune to fire.
Fire resists fighting.
Grass resists fairy as well.
Rock resists bugs
Water is weak to poison.

Ta-da, I fixed the resistance and strength issue at least, now all we need is more useful moves, like a Dark type move that scales off of Special Defense, and increasing defense now increases your weight too.

Ice-Types gain doubled Defense in Hail
Fire-Types are now immune to hail damage
Ice-Types are now resistant to Water, Ground, Fairy, Flying and Grass

Stealth Rocks no longer do type-based damage. Instead, doing the equivalent damage of two layers of Spikes to every Pokemon (including flying mons)

New Move: Hailstones
Basically an Ice-Type equivalent of Rock Slide

I would add something that ice-types or ice-type moves have increased effects during rain. Like increased damage due to the opposing pokemon being wet, or ice pokemon get healing in rain due to the water freezing on their body and covering their wounds.

Rain doesn't need anymore buffs. Ice-Types would already work well in Rain anyway because Rain lowers the power of Fire-Type moves

You can say that about every fucking type no matter how good it is, that doesn't mean slapping 5 extra resists on it is okay. At that point we might as well give Steel its Ghost/Dark resists back and make it SE against Grass because it still has weaknesses/counters and isn't unstoppable :^).
You had a one-track mind when suggesting Ice type get 6 total resistances. There was no filter when you were thinking; there was no deeper-than-base-level thought other than improving it for the sake of improving it. You were thinking of what would make it a super type rather than what would make it reasonable type.
Does Ice type need to be buffed? Yes.
Is arbitrarily slapping 5 resistances on it the answer? Holy fuck, no.

It's pretty damn ok. Steel has way more resistances, yet it only has three weaknesses. Ice still has like 5 weaknesses, so it has plenty of counters

Dark, yes, but not Ghost. I think Psychic should be neutral agains Steel personally. Psychic could do with an offensive buff. Nothing insane, just a little boost here or there

There are many slow, bulky Ice-Types that don't work well as tanks/walls because they have so many weaknesses, but almost no resistances. Grass is a similarly weakness-ridden type, but is more successful as a defensive type due to it's resistances. Ice doesn't have any good resists, so it fails as a defensive type. This is terrible for a type consisting of so many slow, defensive Pokemon, with not many fast offensive mons

the 45 power would break the norm of 40 for +1 priority moves. It is more fitting for a signature move or a rare and special one. At that point you should make it do 50, just make it special and give it too a select few. This will also make it different enough from Ice Shard. This would probably also be a huge game changer for the mons that receive it.
