I agree, DP is kinda shitty, all the good stuff is in Platinum so a remake wouldn't be that great unless they are willing to include the missing stuff. BW is meh all around and kinda held back by the DS, since it tried so hard to be a 3D game without the hardware for it.

It's not that unrealisitc. R/S both have Johto remixes using the R/S soundfont.

This. It's a semi common gamedev practice, too. The ff13 prototype used ff10 characters while the main characters were drafted
