Gen 7 gets a shitload of hate
The soundtrack is great, the story and characters were great, team skull was amazing and it did something new with the trials and the HM pokemons
It's still one of the worst games that I'll never bother replaying but it was still better than SWSH, that game is SM 2.0 but lacks everything that made it not complete shit.

Gen 9+ can all be just slightly better than Gen 8, which means they'll still be garbage.

This. Ohmori was the biggest fucking red flag. People shit on Masuda a lot but his games were at least passable. Ohmori has had two full games to prove himself and they were both shit.

Ohmori isn't the problem. He is actually a good director because he did his best to finish S/M in time with half of the staff on the game during development. The huge problem here is the deadline.

What a terrible comparison, Team Skull weren't even actual villains. It was the Aether Foundation and it was so fucking obvious even before release. Team Skull is literally just memes and their leader is just a glorified bootlicker for the actual villain of SM.
