Brendan gets to do contests, Nate has films, Lucas... has a reputation for eating donuts more than he makes poffins). Nobody hiveminds something specific to his game ver, like there's some good comics out there of sarcastic Lucas reacting to Galactic's absurdity and the lakes, and one or two Lucas who dress piplups up in top hats and go on TV. He gets overwhelmingly lumped with mundane niceness, and I think that's in part because Gen 4 was a few years too early for artists blogposting their gameplay in comic form. You get more variety of emotion when people use protags as avatars to tell stories and jokes, and then certain features catch on and become fanon.
It's thanks to PokeSpe's influence on fanart I've taken to dozy glutton Lucas, but that's because I like that type of character already. I'm not a fan of the comedy act though, and I like protags to have some pokemon wits to explain them becoming #1. My perfect Lucas is a cute, cuddly bear cub down to hibernate, but also tearing battle frontier to pieces like Darkrai gave him a rude awakening. Imagine he looks so docile Cyrus doesn't see the ass beating coming, where'd all this spirit come from? He's his contradictory worst nightmare and Cyrus has no idea what Lucas is thinking. Beautiful.

I thought I sucked Pixiv dry but every time I go back I discover there's a fourth spelling of a tag that I might not have tried before. Pokemon tags are a mess.
