>>45168453and most of their moves and additions are for the sake of hyping up something and making merch and anime showcases of it. a thing that I find depressing is that Megas as a concept were actually cool, but were so unhealthy for team comps that they had to be dropped because GF could not come up with designs fast enough, not that it matters imo as Marketing is what helped Megas be as unhealthy, by giving it mostly to popular mons first that REALLY REALLY REALLY did not need them (Chomp, Mewtwo, Blaz, ect.) and then later giving it to some pokemon that rather needed them but came at such a late point that they were outclassed by other megas when in any situation where they were the first along with mons that might also need them they would make a big enough splash to be an option that makes a mon stronger where in most other areas it was shit. (Pidgeot and Beedrill are the best examples of this, given they are fully evolved mons who are generally at their peak without Megas).
now if I had to give Gen 8 some Credit, it would be the Wild Area, QoL, and Cross Gen Evos. problem I have is that the Evos are exclusive to Regional forms so Mr. Mime and Linoone suffer being two stage shitters sadly. (also fuck GF for not giving Obstagoon Extreme speed).
