I think they should stop making new pokemon when they reach 1000. Its a nice round number. Instead of continuing to make more, they should focus all their effort into balancing all the existing pokemon (across all formats; cards, games, anime, ect.), so each power level of pokemon are roughly equal. At some point the power creep in each generation's stronger and better legendries is going to be just silly. And some times it feels like we already passed that point.

I think we're at a point where GF needs to stop using the excuse that its just a kids game for allowing faulty game mechanics. This is a massive IP with almost thirty years of world building. Why don't we get more spin off games that aren't just mini games? Why not have a new anime series that has nothing to do with Ash? The kid's almost in his forties by now.

I find great irony in a franchise with evolution so core to its foundation has difficulty changing.
