Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield taught me to hate. I thought I hated before Sword and Shield’s existence, but I realize that was a child’s daydream of loathing. No. Real hatred - the genuine, seething fury that no human should experience - can only be gleaned by this visually dismal, artistically bankrupt, structurally fractured pile of shit. Game Freak's final insult, Sword and Shield is a reminder that we’re all going to fucking die, and that nothing we’ve ever done, said, or thought has ever fucking mattered. We all deserve to die, because collectively, as a species, we let Sword and Shield happen. We let this exploitative, disrespectful insult loose into the world. We could’ve stopped it, and we just let it happen.

So fuck Sword and Shield, but more importantly, fuck us all.
