Playing ORAS for the first time, not grinding at all. The Magma admin just now only had a lvl 32 Camerupt and nothing else. Meanwhile my team is all close to 40 (except Latios).

Catch and train more pokemon Be like Ash and switch it up constantly. There are nearly 1000 pokemon, why chain yourself to six? Maybe if your a noob but if you've been playing for a while. it should be easy to train more than 10+ a playthrough of the main story which better distributes that exp-pool.

The last time there was a discussion about ORAS leveling on here, I got screamed and roarer at by dickheads on this board because I said "I was 30 levels higher than the Elite Four at the end of the game while only doing necessary battles, and I had Exp Share turned off the entire time" and they kept telling me that no, I was wrong, you don't get overleveled in ORAS and that the leveling was balanced and in fact better than XY's. It felt like we were talking about two different games. Thanks for posting this, I'll be referring to it in future the next time some dickless wonder on here tries to tell me I'm wrong about the game I played to completion six years ago.

If you only did necessary battles in ORAS with no Exp. Share and a full team, you' d be more than 10 levels behind Steven, potentially more than 15 if your mons were from the Slow Exp group

Pretty much. This is the game where I started training 11 Pokémon rather than six. By the time I reached the Elite Four, they were all around four levels below Steven's team other than my Sceptile who I left in the party the whole time.

Well. OP maybe also pet his Pokemon in Amie or got some of his Pokemon in trades or smth, or actually maybe he didn't evolve some Pokemon out of liking the unevolved forms more and then so then they got the exp boost from that. There are many things that give hidden exp boosts

Go out of your way to only use mons in the Slow Exp group. Try to avoid picking the strongest of that group.
Erratic group also works.

Team Rotation is the most effective, you sure you can't roleplay a squad of nine? Being able to put the highest leveled mons in the box occasionally helps quite a bit.
