Like the communities for EA's flagship franchises, Pokémon casuals have a large amount of complete casuals blind to controversies & the gaming market as a whole, just aware & happy to see a new Pokémon game rolling around & playing it without asking questions or expecting anything. And Pokémon fans, who could be considered commited gaming fans, but are often self ostracized because they don't play anything else, and likely never will, even if they were to know better alternatives or genres they've enjoyed, but haven't explored. They can go from the regretful fan who knows he's buying a shit product he shouldn't be enabling but is going to because he's too commited to the franchise at this point to stand against it, to the full on braindead shill.
