>>45177080>GenesectHas to scout set in order to do so, otherwise can't switch into Douse Drive variants or any packing TBolt
>PheromosaYeah probably ok
>BlazikenNot that I think it should bother with it but if Moltres were to become a significant enough threat ( or rather Ho-Oh in Ubers, that's just better Moltres ) it can run Rock Slide
>MelmetalAgain, if it's really willing, it will just use Rock coverage that it has. CB Thunder Punch also deals a lot but you can Roost it to turn it into a 2HKO & abuse Flame Body.
>CinderaceYeah it beats the most common variant and even Gunk Shot variants dont 2HKO unless rare items & fringe mixups that still keep it as check.
>ClefableSetup fodder for its setup sets, won't like Thunderbolt if it does pack it ( Already worth it to get past Haze Pex on CM variants )
>VolcaronaDepends on the variant. Toxic can probably stall it to death but it won't enjoy several boosts into Psychic for Pex. The rise of Safeguard variants to beat Toxic Stallers will similarly turn Moltres into setup fodder.
>HeatranGets stalled by defensive sets and can't even Toxic it back because Hellfrog's Steel. Will be on a fringe when forced to Roost against Magma Storm variants, and eat an Earth Power for it.
>KartanaProbably the best & most valuable good matchup Moltres actually has. Won't like being Knocked its Boots off but fine otherwise.
>RillaboomAlso a good matchup. Moltres' best & most valuable matchup will be against Grass Spam
>FerrothornAny fire type can do that. Would be valuable if Moltres got more out of it than, at most, light damage, status, or defog against whatever switches in.
>DragoniteYeah, though it technically has counterplay, again, through Rock Coverage and other niche sets. Don't really know what DNite would run in Gen 8 but Moltres would beat a Boots DD/DClaw/EQ/ESpeed set.
