why the fuck do people hate the new exp share so much? pokemon is one of the grindiest jrpg franchises out there and the new exp share completely fixes that, sure there should be an option to turn it off but why would you want to? are people really so nostalgic for the older games that they actually convinced themselves that all that grinding was fun?

It's not so much the Exp. Share itself, but the fact that in SWSH it's impossible to turn off. I personally enjoy the addition, but making everything always get Exp. does get a little annoying because my autism demands everyone be the same level.

They hated it because of how much it fucked up XY and ORAS. They improved it in SM and it's improved again in SWSH. I was still a lower level than the champion at the end despite having the exp share.

I hate it because it's used as an excuse for less battles. Platinum had one of the smoothest level curves in the series, and still brought you all the way up to the 50s, maybe even 60s in the post game. SwSh's level curve is around the same in terms of levels, getting to around the 60s naturally, but the exp share let's you get several times as much exp from battles. Therefore it's safe to assume that there are dramatically less battles, and the story is all around much shorter. It's just a way to mask effectively less content. I wouldn't mind the EXP share at all if the level curve accounted for it and you were all the way into the late 70s by the end of the game.

And it did that in XY and SM as well, while still allowing you to play without it.
It existing isn't the problem, it being mandatory is.
In gen 6 and 7, it was a difficulty setting. Now your difficulty setting is permanently easy.

No it wasn’t. If you’re going by this dumbfuck logic then just use “don’t use the pokemon center and never use items” as your new difficulty setting.

I have most of the RPGs I have played do not have it. Regardless, that is besides the point, as it still does not mean shared EXP is not a feature. You are not understanding something. Items like jump height and item effect duration are simply limits set by the designers. Using them in a argument about game features just makes you look silly.

Practically every jRPG has shared exp... across all characters that are part of the fight, just like in every pre-LGPE Pokemon game. It just so happen that 90% of fights in Pokemon are 1-on-1.

And Bravely Default lets you turn off random encounters, or make them even more common, so Pokemon should turn that into an option instead of Repel. I'm not being ironic there, that would save a lot of time for some people, or add challenge in some ways. Just like turning off EXP share. Fuck, BD lets you turn off EXP gain, so you can do a low level run. Pokemon doesn't let you do that unless you pirated BW.

You're lying. A ton of the early games have okayish level curves but Gen 3 suffers from a massive Elite 4 spike where if you're on par with the 8th badge, you're fucked and need to grind or be turbo autistic with x-items, which is boring as fuck. HG/SS just has shitty level curves all over the place and you need to grind after every badge in gen 5 cause it dosen't give you enough fucking trainers in between gyms and the Elite 4. It's not the MOST grindiest, but it is "one of the" and unlike Dragon Quest or Xenoblade, grinding is fucking boring in Pokemon.

You can even defeat Red in gen 2 being 20 levels below. You just need patience, intelligent using objects and maybe trying more than one time, same thing with elite 4.
But this is the problem, you modern players are so stupid that you think the idea is being at the same fucking level every time and if the enemy has more level you have to grind and that is bullshit. You don't have patience, you don't even explore, that's why sword and shield is perfect for shit like you, just keep walking straight the corridor and you'll be on par with everything.
I won't even bother with "you need to grind after every badge in gen 5". Having replayed them this year and I'm fully aware that you have no fucking idea, you are lying. If you had to grind is because didn't explore shit and you just went full straight. Unova is not your retard Galar corridor.
