Doing Ebin right now. Bavi was a great fight. I needed sadfish to disrupt her weather, a thundacock with volt tackle, and kings rock tripsius to win.
Coldsteel was kind of a let down though. No real treats besides premantom, raped by Chantruth. That Smogon dude at the University was great though.

Honestly? The game is really well-designed, but some of the jokes overstay their welcome and some of their designs are really, really bad.

Yeah but some are truly awful designwise and some are far too good.
For example: Mudpants is just "lel poop". And the pokémon mocking smogon is way too powerful. You meant to tell me that you wanted to mock Smogon... By making an extremely powerful Pokémon? What's the joke in that?
As for the great designed ones, I absolutely adore the idea of Singlets evolution line and all of its gets. Whoever made it is an absolute genius.
Some jokes could have been less "on-the-nose" if you ask me. Furnazi could have been called something else, like "Furnace" or "Furnas".
I don't know, I'm just brainstorming.

White smog and regenerator, flying immunity to ground, ideal moveset for "mentum" shenanigans and spike lead. Sure, it's not THE best Clover has to offer but it is a good mon and the perfect lead, specially with such a high speed. If anything, I would have made it absolute shit, even worse than blobbos.

The joke is basically a car running full speed at you. Absolutely zero-percent subtle. That's why Finasoven seems like a much better design in comparison. The fire starter suffers of the very same faith in my book. The designs are too on-the-nose.

I'm not that anon but yes, he has. The joke is also made more obvious with Mudpants' evolution.

I also don't understand why that anon is saying Smoxilon is garbage as it is very good, but, I mean, yeah, it's moveset is everything that Smogon is poked fun at for, hazards, muhmentum, etc., that's the joke. The dex entries also mock Smogon players for being fragile children. It seems like you're complaining because the joke isn't going the way you wanted it to which is...kind of weird, not gonna lie.

It's a reference to how the original pose of registeel looked like a nazi salute, mixed with the jew ovens from the holocaust. If they removed the fucking reference in the name, it's just an oven making the same pose as registeel.

I will admit I am not a CWC lore master because, honestly, the guy disgusts me. I have actually puked at some of his videos.
And, as for furnazi, I would honestly prefer that for subtlety. It goes a long way in my eyes, specially with this kind of jokes. That's probably just me.

They jab at Smogon at multiple other points in the game, though, like the first Smogoon you ever fight having a 'meta' moveset but it ends up being 4 status moves that don't work with each other, the Smogaroben/Smoxilon dex entries saying that Smogon players are whiny predictable children, etc. I personally think Smoxilon being the epitome of what Smogon movesets tend to be instead of another extreme shitmon makes for a more effective joke, but I guess it's all up to preference

There are no pokemon in this hack that are entirely worthless. Even blobbos has a dedicated role as breedslave.

what role do you suggest smogonbird would fill? It's completely outclassed as anything other than a sacrificial lead due to its mediocre defenses and HP. Sure it has regenerator, but it needs to survive that first hit, and it'll likely drop spikes or pebbles, then die. There are better pokemon that do what it does.
