Only Shinx to take Roark on, and then your next team member is a Pachirisu to take Gardenia on with. Things pick up after that since you can get Rotom then, and by the end of the game Magnezone, selectivity, Jolteon and Raichu can join your team.
Otherwise Johto Grass just generally sucks. There are plenty of options, but most are underwhelming. Not to mention that you’ll likely struggle against Falkner, Bugsy, Morty, Jasmine, Pryce, Clair, Koga AND Lance. Best picks are probably Meganium for bulk and screens, Tangrowth, and Parasect for Spore spreading.
