If both DLCs were in the original game as a post game, it would be ranked above the 3DS games. If they ever release a GOTY edition with everything included buy it.

The definitive ranking of these games is
1 > power gap > 2 > 8 > 7 > 6 > 4 > 3 > 5. Gen 2 would be above the power gap if not for the level curve and the shitmons.

If it were like this from the start and only cost $60 for all of it then yes it would be way more fondly remembered. It's comparable to the amount of content that would be in past games, but with less replayability ofc, and worse online, no dungeons, and all the other problems

Why were there only 4 dungeons in this game, look at that hill with the waterfall, or the mountains behind it, why couldn't we explore that? What was the purpose of the hotel with the ferris wheel if we can't even hop on it? What's the purpose of the hot spring if you can't even take a dip in it?

I don't get how shitmons is a complaint. It's gold and silver, the games are not hard at all. You can use literally anyone and it'll work out fine. Pokemons about using your favorites anyway.
