Is it just me, or are SMUSUM's backgrounds much better than SWSH's. They look so colourful and lively. The other's look so boring.

If you wanted to make a point you somehow chose the worst possible screenshot for it. There's a distinct lack of color, the background is lifeless, and even worse it's a NIGHT, which exposes how flat the shading and lightmaps on the 3DS models were.
