>>45215823>You haven't explained why. Because you have some awkwardly strong attachment to a few pokemon over others? That is the essence of my views, yes. I'm sentimentally attached to a number of different Pokemon. Some of them still not in SWSH, others who will probably never outright leave the franchise. Believe it or not I also feel for people who stand to lose their less popular favorites, too. Maybe you don't get it, but Pokemon, as in the creatures themselves, used to be a uniting force as no matter how unbalanced shit got or how undercooked the games got, everyone still got to have their favorites or discover new favorites to keep with them going forward. Now, instead, we have roster faggotry, just like smash bro--
>Even if this were to happen, it wouldn't matter that much. Fighting games remove characters all the time. Did everyone have a reddit boycott when Ice Climbers weren't in Smash 4? No, they just screeched for a bit and moved in to playing new characters. And what do you know, you bring up smash, too. First, it absolutely would matter to people who care about those Pokemon. You go into any thread about long running fighters and you'll find at least one poor fuck crying about a favorite that hasn't seen daylight in decades. And we're talking franchises with only a fraction of Pokemon's roster. Second, the fighting game comparison is a bit ridiculous considering how much more work actually goes into making characters. With Pokemon you're just matching a small handful of generic creature animations to a vast pull of generic attacking animations. It's all assets to be reused over and over and GF has shown intent to do just that while fighters frequently make and remake their assets. Third, rosterfaggotry is a curse. Have fun when we all devolve into the same shitflinging as smashfags. I won't be here at that point.
Not enough room to quote the last bit, no one seemed to care because cutting Pokemon was almost unthinkable before gen VIII.
