I actually really like ghost horse's disembodied hooves, if they extended that motif to the entire design it'd be an actually neat one. But alas, it just looks like an emo horse.

This. It doesn't look bad because the hooves are separated. It looks bad because the hooves are an isolated design element. They should have cut off more bits of the horse, and in general given it a more ghostly look.

I blame the ice counterpart. They share the same level of design focus. The ice horse’s hooves are more crystalline just like the ghost horse’s hooves being more spectral

Agreed. This is my complaint. I love the ethereal voice idea. Maybe it softens the Pokémon’s ability to chase spirits or prey or whatever else. I know the folly art noises are obligatory because it’s a game but they could make that a Dex entry and I’d enjoy it.

The real beef everyone has is it’s just an emo mlp cashgrab.

I think Spectrier looks better from the other side where it literally has no eyes, just a smoothed over face. It really helps to make it feel otherworldly.

Glastrier is infinitely better though due to not needing you to look at it from a specific angle for it's design to look good.

The mane and tail are the problems. They should more ghostly instead of waifu hair. Maybe like a glowing blue but still also translucent that floats as if the hair is standing up.
