I've been playing since the first gen and I've had good memories of each gen, but something about Gen IV really sticks out in my mind, specifically my playthrough of Diamond
Sinnoh really felt like a massive region with tons of secrets and stuff to explore
The trek to Snowpoint City through the snowy routes that have a perpetual blizzard and you can barely move or see was quite an experience, it felt like I really got lost
I remember Cynthia being a pain in the ass because of how underleveled I was
And I fear, no, I know that a remake would make Sinnoh lose all of its charm
