Why haven't they been able to make new cries sound as good at this game from 1999? I swear so many new mons just sound like a single-note scream or an indistinct grunt, there's barely any way to differentiate them.

Pokemon Stadium was soulful. Actual battle animations, good cries, plenty of incentive to go back to the Gameboy game to train different kinds of mons. I want this kind of content back, bros.

i personally think that these cries are neat but ultimately worse than the XY remasters as they end up kind of losing the personality and charm that comes with their more familiar beeps and boops and i find it surprising that they board that had a 200+ reply thread getting mad the new horse pokemon for sampling a stock whinny would want rapidash to do the same. And of course not everyone on /vp/ is the same but it’s an interesting thing to note.

Also they didn't want pokemon to sound like that by the height of pokemania, at that point they wanted them to be more like cuddly pets like in the anime instead of powerful monsters.
It's why we have sausage fingered fursuits and rabbit soccer players today.
