Most Pokémon fans are looking for a familiar game based on what they were already used to, not Switch/Xbox/console fans thinking “hm I wonder if this new Sword and Shield game is the visual feast I have been waiting for to unleash the full potential of this hardware?”
Sorry, even if you can make the point that more could be done graphically, to me it only ever has to be passable and even now it is visually the best the series has ever been, not the best the Switch has been.
But the most important thing is stuff to do, and attention to detail. The first sign I would look for that GF really just doesn’t care anymore is if it wasn’t an interesting experience, graphics are the bottom of the list of concerns.
