you may assume the fruits caused the regional variants but there is literally nothing about it
the dex entries imply the birds were always like that in galar, no mention of the fruit
same for the giant dead tree on the mountain, or fossilmon roaming the area, or legendary pokemon appearing out of nowhere in a cave YET AGAIN

it's probably some darkest day bullshit. eternatus did something they couldn't really explain in this rushed ass game and the tree grew in the Tundra. The tapestry in Hammerlocke showed three birds flying after the Darkest Day idk if it's related

The big tree in Tundra, once again, is a giant tree that has a dynamaxed Pokemon that drags you to a den. Put 1 and 1 together.
