>>45257285You're right. I do like the idea of trying to make the game more difficult, that's why I've been doing starter only runs. (So far only on emulators though, just to speed up grinding).
I like the idea of only catching one Pokémon from each location, but I don't like it having to the first you encounter/see (this especially doesn't work for SwSh where Pokémon just spawn in the middle of a path one step ahead of you).
I just box any "dead" Pokémon, I'm not releasing my starter when I can breed it further down the line and need to evolve it for my Pokédex.
The other rules are all just subjective bullshit. No I'm not nicknaming my mons to "form a bond", I nickname them where they were caught so I know where I've already found a Pokémon.
If I need to trade to evolve I'm doing that. And if I caught duplicates from different areas I'm trading with NPCs or wonder trading as long as the Pokémon I recieved isn't significantly stronger.
I'm also taking gift Pokémon if I need to. Though this is seen as okay now because it was implied to have happened in the White: Hard Mode comic.
I don't even think the base challenge is for autists, they've just turned a simple change that was supposed to make a run more interesting into a really convoluted mess because of their autistic reasoning "Nuzlock plus [additional rules] is da only reeeeal way to play pogeymans"
