When I think back about it;
>Generations 1 and 2
They are what they are, majority of us started with them and fell in love with the monsters and the games because they were great
>Generation 3
Was so good because it had a major graphical visual I was still a kid and I loved the atmosphere when the new pokemons were slowly announced and it's a great game
>Generation 4
Is also peak kino, lots of good ideas, great games, great remakes too
>Generation 5
Is straight up best games, 150+ pokémon was fucking based, cool story, was fun to have a sequel for once, the mons were maybe trash but the thing is that since there's so many pokemon in gen 5 there's also lots of great designs which evens out everything
>Generation 6
Isn't the best and it started going downhill from there but the games had good online, I loved the dex and it was a first pokémon in 3d, also megas were based
>Generation 7
Followed the path of gen 6 and was pretty bad but honestly it had great kino moment, the team skull was based, the characters were lovable, and so was the tropical ambiance of the game, the tapus are great legendaries, the alolan forms were based and ultra beasts was the best thing to happen to pokémon for a while, generation 7 isn't that bad it's just lots of wasted potential they could have digged way more and make better games
>Generation 8
On the other part is really a shitshow, I'm trying to think about something good but there just isn't, the dex had some great mons but 80% of the dex is garbage square ish mons with no edges, dynamax isn't fun and isn't interesting because the mons don't change forms (yeah there's gigamax but the idea of having bigger pokemon is shit in the first place) the story is pure shit, there's nothing saving it like SM, the evil team is shit, the characters aren't great, the competitive feel of the game isn't well transcribed
