It really doesn't matter if Ash beats Leon or not. If Leon loses, he's still be in the Master Class since he'll have one loss out of countless wins. The current structure isn't like a league but an actual sports circuit. Whether he beats or loses to Leon doesn't matter as long as Ash remains competitive enough to stay within the top 8 rankings. It's more appropriate to ask what'll happen to Ash once he makes it to the Master Class, and he will since he'll beat Raihan in the future.
With that said, Ash will probably continue to travel to other regions to learn more and become stronger so that he can become a Pokemon Master. Ash doesn't think that beating Leon will make him a master.

Except it wasn't a real league since there were no Gyms, the competition was crappy, the finals were a 3vs3, etc... The PM2019 "world championship" feels more like some seasonal exclusive filler crap. The Pokemon Anime is still fun and enjoyable to watch but after XYZ the writers stopped giving any fucks about the story narrative or Ash as a character, SM onwards was pretty much a reboot in anything but name. now Ash is just a brand recognition mascot like Scooby Doo or Woody the Woodpecker, he's not the "Ash Ketchum" character anymore
