Vgc fags I need some advice. I really want to use this mon because I have relied on Koko too many times. Give me general tips on how to get the best out of this mon.

You're not really gonna hit much of the common VGC picks with Knot and the ones you can hit with it (i.e Ttar) would probably live and kill you anyway so the utility is preferred.
You can run sub for alternative fuckery if you want but it's a risk since chip damage is big in doubles and it won't save you from getting doubled.

swampert is useless without the mega. if lando is out just switch, hitting it for almost nothing with grass knot it worth less than a good pivot if you have one.

Thundurus is best used as a physical Dynamax sweeper
Wild Charge/Fly/coverage move (Superpower is best because of Max Knuckle but I've seen people use Iron Tail or Lash Out)/Protect with Life Orb
Also use an Ability patch to give it Defiant, it needs that for the set to work

If youre using a Prankster Thundurus you will want a bulkier spread with Calm nature and one of the healing berries. Thunder Wave is a must, then it kind of depends on the rest of your team. Taunt, Thunderbolt, Protect, Volt Switch, Swagger are all viable.

For offense physical defiant Thundurus is currentely a superior choice since it just fucks over so many things, including Lando who wants to switch in to absorb his electric attacks.

Tang is just a worse Amoonguss though.
Swampert doesnt have any notable niche over Gastrodon which isnt even that good anyways.

Tbf I just didn't want to use amoongus, tangrowth is a physical defense monster which is nice

I just compared both of them together and swampert has more bulk on the set I want to use whereas gastrodon Hits a little bit harder, I'd rather have the added bulk

This was doing very well on battle spot. I was considering running torrent instead of damp, exploding mons don't seem that common.
