Stands out especially harshly with the birds because they roam around the overworld and are a decent challenge to flat-out encounter, let alone battle and catch. This is the part of Pokemon capturing that should actually be difficult along with the battling, not rolling the dice until they decide to cooperate and stay in the fucking ball. I'd love to see more overworld roaming Pokemon in later games, it's objectively superior to the old roaming mechanics.
