Ice is a terrible defensive typing on it's own.
Weak to so many extremely common types and moves, it's universally garbage.

Glastrier has an actual moveset and its bulk is enough to offset its shitty typing. When you factor in TR and Dynamax+WP cheese it becomes even better.

Because they don't have their Rider. It's no different to Kyurem or Necrozma not being the "full" design, becauseKyurm's a shell of an entirely different creature and Necrozma had expended all its light energy causing it to collapse in on itself.

Glastier is a better Dynamax abuser due to its stats, which is why it has more usage in Doubles.
Spectrier is underrated and will probably see more usage once things start to settle.

Fact is bulk Glastrier has a decent move pool and the fat to take hits and kill off an enemy mon even with ice being a terrible defensive type, so it useable in singles. Great is doubles/trick room. That is not even factoring in Dynamax.

First, Shadow Ball from Specs Spectrier does way less than Fishious Rend
252+ SpA Choice Specs Spectrier Shadow Ball vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Victini: 468-552 (115.8 - 136.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Dracovish Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Victini: 1064-1254 (263.3 - 310.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
In fact, it’s less than half. So even against resists, Dracovish does more.
Second, unlike Fishious Rend, entire typings are immune to Ghost.
And third, even Dracovish would use its coverage moves on predictions, something Spectrier doesn’t even have.

Hell, the only 3 reasons you would use Spectrier over Chandelure would be Nasty Plot, the higher (but still outrun by a bunch of Pokemon) speed, and Special Moxie.

the special moxie alone on top of 145 SPA means this shit not only 2HKOs anything that isn't specially defensive or resists Ghost, but it snowballs once it gets one KO, especially on the specs set

Yet Spectrier must switch as soon as blissey comes in, making the set completely useless keke. If that is a comeback, that is pretty sad. Plus literally anyone faster like Dragapult, choice scarf mons, or high priority damaging mons such as Rilla & Bisharp, either forces it out or 1 shots it.
Not even factoring Mandibuzz, T-tar, and Urshifu-Single, which either of these being common mons on teams.

Absolutely not. Not even remotely close.
All 3 have significantly better coverage and defensive utility than Spectrier, allowing them to not be stone walled by any Dark type with decent bulk, and isn’t immediately killed off the with any attack that isn’t normal/fighting or a scald from adamant emboar
