Gen 7 was ok, but there was no excuse for the lack of backgrounds in gym battles in X/Y.

In Gen VI they wanted to make a combination of grid-based maps like previous Gens witha touch of "free moving" in the Roller Skates. Overworld things like the MC, NPCs, objects, etc. suffered from this because this concept aged very bad now that all the things previously mentioned look bigger since Gen VII.

Have not shit PC, emulate it, and up the graphics. My i7 16gb Surface can handle playing it at 2x native graphics comfortably. If I bump it up to 3x, it looks even nicer but it chugs at times. If I had a gaming computer, I could probably play these games in 1080p.
