I guess team sport because Pokémon don’t get beaten to death, my autismo headcanon is that they don’t go full ape mode as in to kill their rivals because they know it’s a friendly battle

Given how much we are told the Pokemon that go for trainers love fighting and that they can actually leave if they want to its more of a sport. Though the war version we hear of in XY seems much more like the forcing cockfighting.

the reason I mentioned the marriage quote is because Game Freak implied humans once coexisted with Pokémon in ancient times, you fucking idiot, not everyone who brings it up is a cumskull.

like, how could you misunderstand what I’ve stated? Game Freak said pokemon and humans used to marry each other, but wouldn’t explain why they stopped, but I would guess they invented pokeballs and started catching them. that’s literally my entire point, don’t misunderstand it as anything else.

Pokemon fight exactly the same way in the wild. Humans didn't invent Pokemon battling, Pokemon willingly partnered up with them so they could fight more and get stronger.
