>>45291711It's a new IP that was revealed around a year or two ago made by GF. I think people were more or less not bothered by it when it was released, but coming out in the same year as Sword/Shield + the announcement of the dex cut drew more attention to it.
I don't think the team split was that huge, but I can't remember. I think I read somewhere once that it was just a project for newer devs to get a grasp on what game making is like?
