>>45302008All of the parts adapt to each other more than people think. There’s some obvious ones like how Arcto’s flippers bend to become feet for Arctozolt, But there’s way more.
Draco’s “meat” becomes electrified where Zolt is attached for Dracozolt, indicating how electricity is coursing through it and also helps the transition of the two bodies look better.
Dracovish’s legs are actually grown at a different angle so it works with its anatomy.
Arctozolt’s tongue is frostbitten.
The color thing, while obvious to some, is often overlooked. Zolt’s cheeks and Vish’s forehead change colors to visually match their bodies better. Meaning Zolt probably doesn’t actually have red pikachu cheeks, that’s just influence from Draco. The insides of both Zolt And Vish’s mouths also change color, which implies a lot of internal influence from their other halves too.
The color thing goes a little deeper though. Arcto Vish and Zolt are blue because that matches the icy coldness of Arcto. It could temperature based. The red on Draco Vish/Zolt don’t match the pinkish color on Draco, they both hang their mouths open, and Zolt looks likes it’s panting in its animations, so maybe the Dracos are overheating somehow. This ones more speculation though.
The Vishes also have some interesting tidbits. The pattern on the forehead is somewhat reminiscent of a face or big goofy mouth, which might make you think Arctovish’s head isn’t screwed up at a glance. Its eyelids being turned to line up with this false face in its animations help. The Vishes also have different fin lengths, Arctovish has long fins because it swims, and at a weird angle at that. Dracovish has short fins because it doesn’t really use them. And finally, Arctovish’s slow lethargic animations are very reminiscent of how fish act when they’re cold, meaning Arctovish is just as freezing as Arctozolt.
