Bug/Grass is awful defensively, trying to run a mixed defender with 35 base hp is atrocious past the 2nd gym, 1 potential immunity that is as telegraphed as primordial sin, and Spore is useless on something that will never go first or survive a hit.
Sure Parasect isn't much better, but it IS better. It's not as hard to force, it's more likely to survive, and it's just all around easier and more fun.
And how fucking dare you treat the fungus as if it's somehow worth less than the bug just because "it doesn't have a face" and "it's a lethal parasite".
Don't act like you've never accidentally squashed an ant, or killed a spider for your own safety.
