HG SS felt so much of a downgrade because of its removal, actually they felt like downgrades in a lot of levels compared to platinum but this was the most frustrating one.

i can maybe at the very least understand why gf would remove some gimmicks but removing a practical item that make the game much more enjoyable and feel like a an overall enhancement must be one of the most retarded reason they came up with, it's at the same level as if they decided to remove the bicycle because it makes the game too easy by making egg breeding too fast.

grinding xp is one the least enjoyable thing to do in pokémon games and the vs seeker helped make it less painfull.
that's what i meant by "more enjoyable".
by removing it the series went backward in my opinion.

nuzlocking or challenge runs, yes. Also, if you have a full team of 6 in HGSS, you are probably gonna be super underleveled for the league. If you don't wanna spam X items, revives, etc. you are probably gonna grind at least a little. VS Seeker is a nice QoL feature.

Some challenge runs are literally impossible without grinding. Getting stuck at like the first gym on a ratata only run would suck.

How is that a zoomer opinion? The VS Seeker is 99% of the time used to grind. EXP Candies do it faster.

Other replies are good. But also remember that egg mons need to be trained up. Also, people who don't make a balanced team can level up to get through a bad gym rather than restart.
