There is a way to not waste your wishing pieces though, put your text in slow and put a wishing piece, and when it begin to say saving, you can briefly see what kind of beam it is and you just hit the Home button and restart the game if that's not the one you wanted.

As someone who also want Star shinies and not just Square for my living dex for example, seeing how more and more people are just doing Square and I'm having a hard time finding the Star ones I need just shows how untrue it is for them to feel like doing just Star, with no special stats, etc... means their hosting is not good enough. So I get him when he says it's good for them to "just host anything that [they] feel like doing".
As for you more specifically, I guess he wanted you to not feel that way either and to always host what you can and want to do, and there will always be someone to appreciate your efforts, and I'll second that too then. Hope you will enjoy doing this with us.

does every pokemon from Rare Den - Den 197 ONLY have the HA? I have been trying to get a Slush Rush Arctozolt and have been getting Dracozolts instead, all three of them have Sand Rush and knowing my luck, that should not be the case

Also, so you know you don't need to search for it, the bats don't really need a 0 stat anywhere since the bats are fast and can technically function as both Physical and Special attackers but their physical attack is sightly better.
