Its base form isn't anything offesnive, it's just a boring standard wolf. But how do they integrate the sword motif into it? It absorbs metal, restructures it, and can turn it into a sword? Okay, sure. Of all the things it chooses to wield or make with its body it chooses a sword. Whatever, I can go with that.
So how does it hold it? In its mouth. So now to swing its majestic sword it has to flail its neck like a dog playing tug-of-war with a rope toy.
They definitely could have integrated the sword into its design in more creative ways. Or at the very least, made its base form less bland than a shaggy blue wolf.
