Correct. For the purposes of ingame lore and promotional materials, they are not considered legendaries. But in the code, they are at least considered sub-legendaries.

Because they're functionally the same. Why the fuck would they code it as a separate group?

Imagine if the PWT props from BW2 had some function in the code called "ReducePokeHP" because they can calculate HP reduction the same way regular Pokemon do. Does this mean the props are Pokemon now? Come the fuck on.

Missingno. (some at least) WERE actual pokémon though. It was only the funky ones where they were calling indexes not in the game or used for non-pokémon entries that wre screwey (catching a issingno and trading it to Gen II will turn it into the Gen II pokémon for that index number).

You're a retard who doesn't actually understand coding. Missingno. was an error handler used to keep the game from immediately fucking crashing if you put the game in a position where it tried to generate a Pokemon using non-applicable Pokemon data or data from beyond the species table. It is not an actual Pokemon and never was. Just because gen 2 converts some instances of glitch Pokemon into real ones due to having an equal index number doesn't fucking change that.

Realisitcally, the only reason why UBs wouldn't be considered "legendary" is because they're newly-discovered. The Cosmog line and Necrozma have established ancient "legendary" lore so everyone kept saying they weren't UBs even though USUM proved that they obviously are

Being an Ultra Beast does not make a Pokemon legendary, but an Ultra Beast CAN be legendary. Most of them aren't, they are just Ultra Beasts.

UBs are effectively Legends. They just can't be called Legends because they're from different dimensions, since ancient texts aren't going to cover a powerful being that hasn't interacted with us before.

No it isn't. In gen 7 there were explicitly 3 and now as of gen 8 they are being mass produced. SEVERAL battle tower trainers have them and there's a whole ass laboratory dedicated to creating them.
