>>45369599If you have a pure Electric type, a Fire/Ghost type and a Poison/Rock type, you have 3 Pokémon weak to Ground, which is way too much. Now let say I put a Flying/Electric type instead, you have now a Pokémon with a Ground Immunity who can switch in any Ground type attack without fear.
Same with coverage, if every Pokémon you have has a Fire type move, maybe you don't need that much Fire type attack. And if your team is really weak to let say Gengar, having a Dark/Ghost on at least one or two Pokémon might be a good thing. Then you also need to put this kind of attack on a Pokémon actually able to attack Gengar fast enough or resist his moves enough to kill it first. Etc, etc... For me, the best game to compare it too is chest. The point is to have some pieces in your arsenal and place them a certain way so you can take valuable pieces who are a threat to your Queen (the one Pokémon who can offensively or defensively take out your opponent's team easily), and when you do, your Queen can just wreck havoc. It asks patience, planning and knowledge, it's not a spam A kind of game. But it's also not inaccessible to anyone either. I became a somewhat good competitive player in two months by playing from time to time, anyone can do it.
Even the best players are still learning and doing mistakes to this day, losing and doing mistakes are important and are good, this is how you learn. Reassessing the match, looking at what you did right, what you did wrong, what the team might lack, what the team do well, etc... All of it is important to grow, and not just at Pokémon.
