I played ORAS at least 6 times and I never once even thought to use them. I honestly don't think I even transferred them to bank before I deleted my save file.

Does it matter? Pokemon games have always been incredibly fucking easy, even champions were easy as shit. I don't see who is hurt by being given a legendary they can just choose not to use if they REALLY want to pretend like they're being challenged, asides from you apparently.
