>>45350369Alcremie is a cute pokémon, but sadly fails in the list of "Pokémon i like but i'd never see myself use in-game". It also undermines the hypocrisy in Game Freak's game design. Alcremie was introduced in a gen which had the objective to simplify evolution methods: many pokémon that evolved only when in a specific location were changed to evolve through an elemental stone (Magneton and Charjabug, for example, now only need a Thunderstone). This looked at first as a desire to shy away from adding superfluous item over superfluous item, that only end up bloating the player's bag. But then Alcremie appears, and has the unique gimmick of having 63 different color variations, which can be achieved when Milecery, its pre-evolution, holds one of the dozens of Sweet items made for it, which will now have to be implemented in every single game, if they want Milcery and Alcremie to be in it.
I congratulate the creativity of the pokémon, because i'm personally a fan of these gimmicks, but i also understand the implications of their existence on the long-run for a game like pokémon.
Overall i give Alcremie a 7/10
