I want to play Pokemon Gaia without any of my Pokemon learning Surf or Waterfall.

Can I use a "walk through walls" cheat to accomplish this?

If I learn Dive will it work if I'm not in "Surf mode"?

I know, it's annoying. I plan to cheat my way past them as much as possible.

I believe it does work, have you tried pressing A while on top of the dark water? I think it gives you a message even if you don't have dive yet, if I remember correctly

Just gets fucking HM space like the rest of us. Surf is good unironically and rock smash can be ok coverage if that’s the only fighting move you have access too

I'm planning to play Gaia soon, does anyone have a link to a pokedex list for the game? I looked around but couldn't find one. Also if you have team reccomendations I plan to pick Turtwig.

Rock Smash is 20 BP in the older games, you’re not doing shit for coverage- a neutral hit at 50 BP does more than SE rock smash.

I know is kind of annoying, but just use an HM slave for those areas then box it, last time I played I used a tentacool (you can fish one right in the area you get Dive), it's not a big deal

As for team recommendations, it depends on what you want to do. Mono type? 3 physical attackers/3 special attackers? No type overlap? Generation restriction? Gaia has so many options you pretty much have to plan ahead on what you want.

And as for hard to get, I would say any of the Pokemon you can get from Eggs in Edashore, since the good ones cost a lot and it's all rng as to what you get within a certain tier, like with Rare, you could get Furfrou, or you could get Axew, or even Deino. Other than that, maybe the 1% encounters if you have no patience. For your planned team, nothing too hard. Two now evolve by level, and two evolve by Regal Stone. Rotom can be found in Telmurk inside the warehouses, and the appliances to change its forms can be found in the same city, where you find the Coin Case.
