I like that pokemon is slowly embracing 'boss batles' with wild pokemon where the aim is to defeat rather than catch them, but with the battle system the way it is, they're mostly inconsequential and are over very quickly, so it doesn't feel rewarding.
How could they go about increasing the difficulty of these while still retaining the battle system that ordinarily allows you to plow through? Multiple health bars, shields like the dynamax pokemon, or something to that effect? Any ideas?
