Doubles doesnt let you stall or do multi turn setups nearly as well as singles, but with singles support pokemon have to be built very differently. If it werent for sketch Smeargle would be an absolute shitmon. Pachirisu IS a shitmon, but it was that shitmon he needed to xompliment his team and strategy of Electrifying moves to deal more damage and recieve less, and he played it wonderfully.
