Nintendo's just doing what it has ALWAYS done, treating limited editions as Collector's Items, the thing is there was no real digital presence the previous times they bothered celebrating their milestones
You can bet your ass the Mario collection's coming back after a little while as either standalone digital releases or different physical bundles; no one takes the time to port a game to a big software seller and throws that work into the trash (The GBA games on the ambassador 3Ds had a few issues running properly which is why they didn't go forward with the concept then)
The Fire Emblem is admittedly weird but It wouldn't surprise me if they also do something with it soon after March, too
There IS a real possibility GF tries to copy the format but being the shameless money-hungry retards they are they do skip out on the "make it available later on" part, I'll give you that
