I think the issue OP overlooks is that implicit expectation that as a male heir, his Grandpa hopes he'll dawn the mantle of Kahuna. That expectation would be assumed if Hau was female. People very rarely have the same expectation placed on their daughters' shoulders. His character would have had 0 impact, and would have only served to be coomerbait. I don't dislike the design in your post. I dislike the concept. It's not the same. Call it sexist, idc, It's the truth.
