Would've been interesting taking on a Team which is technically already established and in power of the region, and this has the benefit of improving the region's content as a whole. Malva secretly being apart of Team Flare could've been handled much better, so why not add the Champion and several other Gym Leaders who specialize in art specific themes?
She's not alright with letting her beauty fade and her acting career & social status along with it. Also, agreed with other anon, give her M-Diancie, but also a few other Pokemon which play off the "beauty" theme like Milotic which parallel's Lysandre's Gyarados. Another choice (replace Gourgeist) is contrarian Serperior, because y'know, it's Poke' France and is featured on Parfum Palace for this reason. Lance & Leon use Charizard, so let it be an exception for other starters if they do fit thematically.
