I didn't say that there aren't any good designs, but most of the new pokemon are lifeless cereal mascots who quickly get forgotten when a new game is announced because they aren't made to be an interesting species, just "my new friendly partner!!!"

just look at how most of the popular pokemon from Kalos and Alola got quickly forgotten while many Gen1~Gen4 pokemon are still very popular

The majority of Pokemon designs period are shovelware with a few standout designs in each gen that are often carried by nostalgia regardless
The fact that even Gen 1 Pokemon got the initial axe in SwSh really goes to show that plenty of Pokemon are totally expendable

older games actually were heavily inspired by Kaijus since boomers and millennials loved Kaijus and giant monsters
while zoomers love le funny cartoon characters with quirky personalities like Raboot and Incineroar

Gamefreak returning most of the pokemon back proved that the cut happened because SWSH was rushed and gamefreak didn't have time to put all the pokemon back so they lied saying for graphics, animations and balance which all proved to be untrue

Venusaur and Blastoise became bait to buy the DLC though
