The endgame from Opelucid City onward is phenomenal, but the fucking SLOG to get to that point is not too good. Plus the evolution levels on many of your pokemon is ridiculous, like rufflet needing to be level 54 and pawniard level 52. And your distribution is more fucked than people think because of the linearity. Those two pokemon I listed can only be grabbed at the literal end of the game. By the time you reach Opelucid, like 95% of the story is finished!
