Today you've learned the power of social trends.
>>45385776Not just fanboyisim.
BLIND fanboyisim is what you are missing here. The kind of pure fanboyisim with complete faith that anything with a certain title must be good. Those who have chosen to defend any shitty action the company might bring about because they are the "real fans".
The reality is that if there are or were any "real fans" of this franchise, it's anyone who was still playing pokemon over the age of 12 during gen 3 and much of gen 4.
It's easy as hell to be a Pokemon fan today. Hardly any of the large fanboyish/fangirlish playerbase today would have played it when it was one of the most panned and mocked franchises in the world to the point where admitting to playing was legitimate social suicide.
The large swaths of fans you see today don't give one singular shit about the actual games, just its popularity, memes, and what they can siphon for themselves with it. This is doubly true with women who claim to be fans of this game.
