>>45389188The average buyfag doesn't look at those third versions as DLC, rather than a definitive version of the game or a "new" game altogether. You're also making the grossly misguided assumption that most who bought those third versions had already bought the others beforehand. There is bound to be some overlap for sure but a significant number of those sales were from people buying into the gen for the first time. Especially since people started getting savvy and realized it was better to wait rather than buy the bare bones new gen release.
In fact the most casual fans, which make up the majority of consumers, simply buy the original version on release and never buy into the next.
>>45389515That's a very poor angle to attack the argument from. An "adult" title would be skewed in favor of more DLC sales than a children's title, because adults have far more disposable income than children. They might be slightly less willing to pay for it, but they're far, far, far more likely to actually have the money to pay for it while children are dependent on parents who will likely tell them they already spent $60 on the game and should be happy with that.
Also that $90 bundle price is gonna induce sticker shock in both adult fans and parents alike. The former will be more likely to pick it up anyways, the latter will be more likely to get the cheaper version because their kid is gonna get bored with it before long anyways. We have no idea how well that bundle is gonna do, $90 for a regular retail game is a bit unprecedented. Usually GotY bundles are priced at $60. GF got greedy.
