I just want some of them to be available in the wild in multiple forms. It'd make perfect sense to have, say, both forms of Vulpix or Darumaka in one region, but in different habitats.

What? No. I prefer they make forms for Pokémon I don't care right now. I mean, I didn't care about Ninetales and Sandslash until their regional forms, but I love them now. On the other hand, they massacred one of my favorite Pokémon ever (Darmanitan).

I would make it pure Poison I think to distinguish it from Shellder. Can't have a regional form and not change its type. Poison would make sense since Slowbro's dex entries talk about the Shellder injecting poison and awakening its psychic abilities.
